Tahiti - Cruise the Alysia
Sample Itinerary
Tahiti - 10 Days
DAY 1 - TAHITI. PAPEETE
This Society Island cruise will begin with arrival on Tahiti. You'll want to
spend two days adjusting to your jet lag and exploring this Pacific
paradise. The French flavor of these islands, mixed with native Polynesian
culture makes an impression on all lucky visitors to these tropical isles.
DAY 2 - TAHITI - PAPEETE
Before we begin our cruise to other locations, you may want to visit the
Gaugin park and museum as well as shop for black pearls or enjoy some of the
many fine restaurants, markets and folkiore center.
DAY 3 - PAPEETE - MOOREA ISLAND. 1 hr 30 mins
An under-two-hour cruise to the island of Moorea will make a lifelong
impression on any guest and the yacht can anchor in either Oponuhu Bay and
Cook Bay - each are postcard perfect scenes. Divers may take advantage of
some spectacular sites while land rovers will want to rent a 4-wheeler and
check out the view from Belevedere lookout, some ancient Tahitian temples,
Opuhi plantation and a scenic waterfall.
DAY 4 - MOOREA ISLAND
There are still plenty of activities to enjoy on Moorea, so we'll linger in
the area for another day to take in the natural splendor of this Pacific
jewel. You'll want to tell your friends at home about horseback riding on
the beach at Rupe Ranch or in the mountain at Haapiti. Ready for more
encounters with nature? You might choose to swim with the dolphins at Beach
Comber Park Royal Hotel or visit the tropical aquarium and pearl farm.
DAY 5 - MOOREA ISLAND. TETIAROA - 3 hrs
You'll feel like royalty today as the yacht moves to Tetiaroa, a historical
resort for the Tahitian chiefs of the Pomare royal family. Anchor for the
day and enjoy the pristine white sand beaches of the nature reserve. A visit
to the lagoon is afforded by a water jet powered boat.
DAY 6 - TETIAROA - HUAHINE - 9 hrs
On this day the yacht will begin exploration of the leeward island group and
the first stop will be Huahine - which is actually comprised of two island
connected by a narrow isthmus. Excursions ashore can include tours via
horseback or bicycle. A visit to the local market in the village of Maeva is
always entertaining. There are numerous anchorages to choose from and the
views from your stateroom porthole are guaranteed to captivate.
DAY 7 - HUAHINE - RAIATEA IS - 3 hrs
DAY 8 - RAIATEA IS - TAHAA IS - 2 hrs
Today's destination is Raiatea and her sister island, Tahaa - which are
enclosed withlf1 the same keyhole-shaped reef. Lush and mountainous, the;e
islands played an important role in Polynesian culture. Besides enjoying the
marvels of her waters (wreck diving, shark feeding, pearl farms and deep sea
fishing), there are plenty of activities on land to keep your party
interested. Helicopter and seaplane trips are available and you might want
to take a 4x4 road safari to check out the vanilla, pineapple and bamboo
plantations.
DAY 9 - TAHAA IS. - BORA BORA - 2 hrs
Wake up to find the yacht anchored off palm fringed Bora Bora. You will
truly be in paradise and if just soaking in the sun and scenery isn't
enough, the snorkeling and diving here are, of course, extraordinary. There
are wonderful boutiques and excellent restaurants on Bora Bora, a great
opportunity for another dose of French Polynesian culture as the charter
winds to a dose.
DAY 10 - BORA BORA
Enjoy your last morning with a hearty breakfast and one last swim in these
pristine waters before packing your bags. You'll be able to catch an Air
Tahiti or charter plane back to Papeete to make your connection for home.
